Happy Holidays!

I’m guessing that you have a lot on your plate right now, that you are busy-bee’ing around getting things done in time for Christmas/the holidays, so you can relax and enjoy a cozy time with friends and loved ones? Maybe you’re already in holiday mode? (I know I am!)

Either way, I’m also guessing that Blog-hopping etc. may not rank high on your agenda right now..?

Today’s post is a short one. I simply want to just quickly let you know what will be happening on my part for the next couple of weeks, AND then of course I want to wish you happy holidays, whichever way you are celebrating.

May you have the best and most magical, wonderful time with lots of coziness, love and sharing, lots of joy, fun and laughter, and an abundance of peace and calm and blessings!
Many thoughts and lots of love to you and your family and loved ones.

I will be staying in Denmark for the holidays, celebrating Christmas with my family.
My partner will be joining us on the 24th. I LOVE Christmas – I’m still very much a child in that way. In fact so much so that I have chosen to retire from the business side of things early this year.

Therefore, tomorrow’s (Tuesday’s ) show on Real Coaching Radio Network will be a re-run of a previous show again (last week was canceled last minute by RCRN due to a technical fault).

However, look forward to a great show on December 29 where we will pick up where we left off with Intuition – Listening to Your Inner Voice.
I will include a reminder for that topic in next week’s article.

Please remember that I would absolutely LOVE to hear from you LIVE on the show if you have a story to share about a time or situation where listening to your inner voice and following your intuition led to something spectacular or created an amazing outcome. You can call in during the show or better still; mail me in advance to let me know that you would like to come on and tell your story. This will give you more time to elaborate on what happened and why, what led to this event, and where did it take you? Mail me here: contact "at" suzannrye.com

Intuition – Listening To your Inner Voice

How and why do we sometimes lose touch our own inner voice, and what can we do to restore the connection. Why are we afraid to listen to the profound inner knowing and wisdom that we all possess?

Recently I found myself in deep conversation with the mother of a close friend. We were discussing her life situation – if and how she could and should make some quite challenging changes in her life. I was impressed with her openness and willingness to learn from someone much younger than herself. At some point she asked me: “How on earth do you know all the things you know…”?

I was struck by her question, and initially I went through all the logical explanations in my head that could have lead me to where I am today. Then I simply said; “I listen”…

I believe that we are all born with infinite wisdom. Unfortunately we tend to “forget” what we know in order for us to better blend in with the communities that we have created. As a result we become more and more unhappy and unfulfilled because part of us still holds on to the original plan – the one that resonates with who we really are and what we came here to do.
And so we experience an imbalance between what we think we have to do and how we have to live – and what our “Little Voice”, our inner voice, or intuition, guides us towards. This imbalance can become almost unbearable. We get stuck and don’t know which direction to take.

So what happens if we simply let go of all the ideas about what we “must” and “should” do, and instead do what we feel called to do? What happens if we allow ourselves to listen.
Join me for an inspiring talk about Intuition and Listening to Your Inner Voice.

“There can be no powerful Voice without a powerful Spirit and no Spirit will truly thrive without allowing the Voice to speak its truth”.

But I Just Wanna Bake Cookies With The Kids And Cut The Grass...

Some people may feel genuinely happy and content living a subtle, quiet, and simple life. They don’t feel like they have any major ambitions other than taking each day as it comes and enjoying time with their loved ones. They don’t need to explore or expand any further. Some people find their purpose in devoting their life to a cause or to worship. Some people see themselves as a vehicle for other people’s success. They are perfectly happy living somebody else’s dream and never really making any fuss about their own.

They have made their decision. They have found their truth—what’s right for them. They are at peace with themselves, and they are in fact living their dream.

It’s really important to remember that what’s right for one person may not be right for another—and that’s OK.

It is also important to recognize that dreams can change, because we, as people, change. That means that our priorities change too. Sometimes we come to a point where we need to re-evaluate the dream that we are currently living. Does it still hold? Does it still excite and fulfill us, or is it time to move on?

If our needs and priorities have changed, the dream must change too. We have to let go of the old vision and allow the seeds of a new one to blossom. This is not giving up. This is being aware enough to know when it’s time to do some spring cleaning.

Self-development, fulfillment, and self-realization are very much in focus these days, and coaching has become second nature to many people. As much as this is largely a wonderful thing, it can also trap us into feeling that if we’re not heavily drawn into all of this and if we’re not wildly ambitious—there must be something wrong with us! It is easy sometimes to lose sight of ourselves and our own personal, individual needs and priorities. In today’s world, we are constantly being bombarded with information and images that we are told are supposed to make us happier, more fulfilled, more popular, more beautiful, more loved, more famous, wealthier, and so on. No wonder so many of us suffer from stress trying to keep up! That’s invasive programming right there.

Stop and think. If what you really want and enjoy is a nice, quiet everyday life, working a regular job, cooking dinner, doing a bit of gardening, walking the dog, and spending quality time with your friends and family, then that’s exactly what you should do! Nothing wrong with that whatsoever. Don’t feel that you have to have huge ambitions for something else if that’s really not you. Don’t feel that just because someone else wants to change their life around and move in a different direction, you have to feel that way too. If you are perfectly happy where you are, why on earth should you change that?

The core principles of coaching and any kind of self-development are really about identifying your needs and priorities and fulfilling them because when you do, you feel happy. You will pass that on to other people too.

I cannot count the times when I wished that I was one of those people for whom baking cookies and cutting the grass was genuinely enough. I honestly look at people like that and think to myself, “They have it all worked out.” They have found their bliss, their peace, and their purpose in the small, simple things in life—the very core values like family, community, and close-knit friendships that last for life, hanging out on weekends in the garden, popping in to see a friend for a cup of coffee and ending up staying for five hours chatting about something not really important but still wonderful . . .

Isn’t that really what life is all about—caring for one another and enjoying time together? As a coach, I put myself in an unusual position when I say: Who cares about how many things you achieve today? There’s a new day tomorrow—relax!

But I’m dead serious. If you’re the one with the cookies in the oven, I salute you! In this day and age, you are a rare species. I bet you are a lot less stressed and a lot happier than most of your ambitious friends, right? So stay that way. Relish the fact that you have remained untainted by the super-high-achiever-syndrome of the twenty-first century.

So now I have possibly confused you. Am I now telling you not to follow your dreams and pursue your goals?

No, I am not! I’m telling you to recognize your dream, whatever it is, and go for that. If it happens to be baking cookies and tending to the garden, then great! Will you feel excited about it every single day of your life? Probably not, but mostly—and that’s good enough; in fact, that’s pretty darn fantastic.

With all of my travels—with all of my exciting, and, at times, exotic adventures—I still feel like I’m somehow missing out. Of course I have close friends and a wonderful family, but they’re spread out all over the world, and having a typical birthday party with all of them is simply not an option. So I look at my old childhood friend with her house full of kids and friends and busy Sundays by the stove, and I tell her how lucky she is. “Are you crazy?” she says. “You’re the lucky one. Look at all the exciting stuff you have going on!” And we laugh, because isn’t that just how we all are—always thinking the grass is greener on the other side?

However, she knows and I know that we could never change places. She could never live my life, nor I hers. We would both go nuts.

We are who we are, and we have different dreams, goals, and purposes to fulfill in our own way. We have different paths to take. No one path is any better than another. But one path is right for you.

My friend always wanted a steady job, kids, and a husband who had a steady job too. As far back as I can remember, she dreamed about what their house would look like and how everyone would gather on the weekends for freshly baked bread with butter and homemade jam and hot chocolate. And they would play cards and watch movies and eat popcorn. This is her life. She is living her dream.

I, on the other hand, always had this urge inside of me to go out and do all these wild, worldly things that seemed nearly impossible. Why—am I crazy? Perhaps, but it’s who I am. I dreamed of being a pop star and traveling the world; I dreamed about writing music and publishing books; I wanted to speak to people and tell them my ideas about life and freedom and to encourage them to follow their dreams; and I wanted to never have to get up early in the morning, because I hated that!

This is what I did. Most of it is what I still do.

I grew up in a small place—five million people total—with a funny language... (By the way, that’s five million in the entire country, not the nearest town.) Not exactly a head start if you want to take on the world.

How did I succeed in doing all these nearly “impossible” things?

Well, I guess I didn’t know it at the time, but already as a child, I had a very strong vision—just like my friend. And we both created exactly what we “saw.”

Anyone can do that.

But many don’t.

“There can be no powerful Voice without a powerful Spirit and no Spirit will truly thrive without allowing the Voice to speak its truth”.

Monday, November 30, 2009

Hi guys,

Today I want to share an experience with you that I just wrote about in my weekly eZine. Nothing hugely profound really, just a couple of thoughts worth mentioning.

As you probably know by now I am in lovely Denmark, the country where I grew up. I am conducting a healing retreat with a close friend.

During my stay here, I have been shying away from the computer almost all together, leaving only Mondays to stay in touch with you, my community, friends etc.
You see, one of MY own personal objectives during this quiet time was to “conquer” what I would term my “my increasingly alarming computer addiction”, or better still, “my other-worldly existence”…

I realized that since my book launch in June, which required a constant strong online presence, a huge part of me simply remained in the virtual world of cyber space. My new existence had gradually engulfed me, and had become almost more “real” than my physical surroundings…It was eating away too much of my time and affecting my creativity (and without my creativity, I haven’t got anything to share on the internet anyway) Hmmmmm!

The Internet with all its trimmings is a wonderful thing, no doubt. It gives us so much access, so many opportunities to connect and make things happen on a global scale. It saves us time.
But it also steals of our time, unless we find an appropriate balance for ourselves between “the old and the new”, the “real and the virtual”.

I literally live and operate in several countries. Most of my clients, my coaching course, my radio show etc. are in the US - but I live in Europe most of the time. So I appreciate and quite honestly DEPEND on the Internet for both my work and my social life. However, for the last couple of weeks I have been joyfully reminded that the world still stands the next day, and the next, if I (horror!) leave my computer shut, if I don’t check my mails every day and respond immediately etc etc.

What a relief! I’m not THAT important – but “important” enough to still be around and have a place in the world even if I’m not available online 24/7!

Ahhhhhhh, time for cuppa tea and then maybe a good long walk along the coast afterwards, and then maybe…

Now that you're here, I'd like to share with you about this Week's - Your Voice Is Your Calling Card - Show on Real Coaching Radio Network, Tuesday 1 pm (13:00) EST/19:00 CET.

How And Why To Use Affirmations

Try replacing the word obstacle with the word challenge. Does it feel different?
Imagine your obstacles to be just neutral statements with no weight either good or bad.
Positive affirmations are positive thoughts or statements that are repeated over and over. As you repeat them and infuse them with real emotion and passion, they go directly to your subconscious mind, where they begin to manifest as your reality. When you use positive affirmations, you decisively convert negative, restrictive statements into positive, constructive statements.

Begin with simply replacing minus words with plus words. For example, “I’m not smart enough” becomes “I am very smart—in fact more than smart enough!” “I’m not confident enough” becomes “I am confident and, in fact, every day I’m getting more and more confi dent!” “I’m too shy” could become “Every day I’m taking steps, moving forward, feeling more and more safe and comfortable with other people, in front of other people. I am finding communicating easier and easier, and I am becoming more and more open and outgoing so that speaking publicly is becoming more and more attractive to me, easier and easier, more and more fun, etc.”

How to Construct Your Positive Affirmations
Speak in the present tense and present continuous tense. Use the terms “I am,” “I am being,” “I do,” I have,” “I am having,” etc., as opposed to “I would like to,” “I could,” “I would,” “I wish,” “I will,” or “I will be,” which indicate something that you either want but haven’t yet got or something that “will be” sometime in the indefinite future. You need results now—not in thirty years or so!

For example, say, “I am being completely comfortable regardless of the size of the crowd” as opposed to “I will not be uncomfortable because of the size of the crowd.”

Always avoid using the word not. Focus clearly on what you want rather than focusing on what you do not want. Use positive (plus) words. Formulate your statements in such ways that they clearly state what you do want to achieve, be, or become as opposed to what you do not want.
Use passionate, emotive language—strong positive words, such as fantastic, amazing, exciting, fulfilling, excellent, confi dent, comfortable, invigorated, energized, refreshed, brilliant, wonderful, incredible, etc.

These are all powerful words that will strengthen your positive affirmations even more.
Repeat, repeat, repeat! There is enormous power in repetition . Strengthen your statements using repetitive phrases like “more and more, better and better, stronger and stronger, easier and easier,” etc. You can also use the term “even more.”

Also use the terms and therefore, and furthermore, so that, etc., to strengthen motivation. For example, say, “I am more and more confi dent every day and therefore I am more easily inspired. I’m getting better and better at letting go and being in the moment, trusting my abilities and my intuition, and I am enjoying speaking in front of my colleagues every day more and more.” Binding your sentences together, connecting them, and allowing them to back each other up adds reason and potency.

Use the term in fact to underline a point. For example, say “I’m calm and confident on stage. In fact, I am so confident that every time I speak, I am enjoying it more and more.”

Things to Avoid When Constructing Your Positive Affirmations
In general, avoid words that have a negative feel, like don’t, can’t, shan’t, no, not, never, maybe, if, probably, could, should, might, may, perhaps, impossible, and similar negatively loaded words.
Avoid words like try, want, hope, but, and hopefully because they indicate that you are wanting something—but not having it, trying for something— but not making it, hoping for something—but not getting it, etc.

Avoid terms like always, forever, and in the future, which are very diffuse expressions as well as indefinite time frames. Give it a specific time to start working. Say “from this moment in time (now),” “when I do this or that,” “when I meet with this person,” “when I arrive at this place,” etc.
Avoid adjectives that are not easily defined, such as normal or perfect. If you can ask yourself “What does normal actually mean?” it is perhaps not defined clearly enough.
Avoid ambiguity. Be precise. Say exactly what you mean—and mean what you say.

Converting words and statements is an ongoing process. Practice doing this every time a negative, self-limiting thought enters your mind. Make a habit of it.
Begin right now to create Positive Affirmations out of any and all thoughts and statements, especially negative ones.

This may seem weird and perhaps difficult at first. Maybe you will even feel like you are lying to yourself sometimes, but that’s OK. Fake it till you make it, as they say. And you are going to make it!

Have lots of fun with it. Make a commitment to part completely with any heavy negative thoughts and feelings that you may have. Allow them to leave your system; they’ve had their say, now it’s time to move on and replace old habitual thoughts and beliefs with new ones. Let the old rest in peace as you welcome the new.

Keep a list of your Positive Affirmations, add to the list every day and watch it grow. Enjoy how your new life unfolds and fills every single day with more joy and the inner knowing that YOU have the power to create unlimited good in your life!

Enjoy, and let me know how you get on.

To your Joy and Success!
Love,
Suzann.

Affirmative Synchronicity

Hi guys,

Today as I am writing this I am in total awe. It never ceases to absolutely thrill and amaze me how things always seem to work out in perfect synchronistic order.

As you know, I am in Denmark conducting a healing retreat with a close friend of mine. We are relaxing, talking, meditating, and much more. It is bliss.
We are using the wonderful teachings of Louise Hay as the basis for many of our guided meditations and affirmation exercises. The material is second to none – what an amazing woman she is! We have also been watching “The Shift”, a new movie from Hay House, based on the work of Dr. Wayne Dyer and featuring Wayne as the main character. It’s an awesome film – you MUST watch it along with “You Can Heal Your Life – The Movie” from Louise Hay.

Anyway, here’s the incredible thing: Being so totally preoccupied and engulfed in this space, I realized yesterday that I hadn’t booked a guest for my radio show on Tuesday (tomorrow)!
Oh well, I thought, I’ll just talk about all the wonderful things that were doing here, about how to use meditation and positive affirmations as part of ANY process where you’d like to see improvement. (If you’ve ever read any of my books, attended any of my workshops or seminars, or in other ways worked with me, you know how much I generally value and emphasize on these tools and principles). I would also introduce Louise Hay and Wayne Dyer’s work to my listeners and talk about their pioneering Spirits. Yes, that would make an excellent show!
Still, I had the distinct feeling that the perfect guest for the show would turn up last minute...
(I must have affirmed it, lol)

I posted a note on Facebook explaining my momentary absence from the virtual world, and added a short remark about the Wayne Dyer Movie. One of my Facebook friends commented back that she too had just seen that movie AND had been fortunate enough to meet the man himself afterwards! She had been in Tampa, Florida over the weekend attending the “I Can Do It” conference with, guess who… Louise Hay, whom she, of course, met as well (picture of her and Louise on Facebook). She would love to come on my show and talk about it!
Now, how’s that for Synchronicity in Motion (Title of my next book). I LOVE it. What an exciting talk we will have on Tuesday, I do hope you’ll join us.
By the way, if you haven’t already, ever thought of signing up for my weekly eZine?

Hold On To Your Neighbor

Recently I had an important speaking engagement. I had chosen to speak on the value of making mistakes, how mistakes are important lessons that help us grow and make us who we are, and how we should learn to simply view mistakes as neutral experiences that we can deposit into our knowledge-bank account and watch as our wealth of wisdom gradually grows every time we make a mistake. (You may be familiar with one of my earlier articles on this topic)

I’m used to speaking and I enjoy it. I rarely get nervous and overall I feel very comfortable on the platform which is a good thing when you are a speaker!
But sometimes you become so used to doing what you do that you begin to think that you can get away with murder...

I guess this is what happened to me on that particular occasion. I stopped paying attention and allowed myself to run on autopilot.

Now, in some cases I guess autopilot works. But sometimes it turns out that the battery is drained and so the power fails. Complete system failure!
At the time, thought to myself, "why was this happening"?!

I hindsight it was simple. My system was totally overloaded. My head was in a hundred different places at once, and I wasn’t able to hold a single thought long enough for it to manifest into anything coherent or useful at all.

Sometimes we need to sit back, take a deep breath and simply allow our batteries to charge. We need to listen and pay attention when our entire being is screaming at us to SLOW DOWN!!! Are all of those tasks on the to-do list really dead necessary!? Do we really need to grasp at any opportunity that comes our way?

There’s nothing wrong with saying no. It’s OK to admit that there are limits to how much we can take on and cope with at any one time. If we spread ourselves too thin, the things and maybe even the people that matter the most to us may suffer. If we try to do too many things at once, chances are that none of them will get the care and attention they deserve – none of them will get done properly. And there’s nothing more frustrating than not doing your best or being the best that you know you can be.

That day I was reminded how important it is to stay present and stay in the natural flow of things. And I was certainly reminded that no matter how experienced and well trained we are, falling asleep behind the wheel is not a good option – you might steer yourself straight into the ditch!

I made several mistakes during my presentation – I was counting them as I went along – and I was humored by the irony of the situation. Here I was, talking about mistakes and keenly demonstrating as I went along!

Were the mistakes good for me? You bet. The engagement was all good fun and pretty relaxed, so no real harm done. But a couple of weeks later I was due to speak at a huge convention. I suspect that without an early wake up call I would have simply continued full speed ahead down the same road to overload disaster. Now I wouldn't.

No matter how much we would like to think so, none of us are invincible. And you know what – that’s okay - we don't need to be. It is far more important to enjoy and feel passionate about what we do than to impress people with our perfection. Think about it; who would you rather be inspired by: someone who exudes joy and excitement - or someone who is so perfect that you can't relate to them?

When we show our weaknesses and our vulnerable sides we reveal ourselves as fellow human beings - no matter who we are, how accomplished, successful, rich or famous. We all come from the same place. We're all in the same boat on the same journey. So it's not so scary after all. As long as we stay in touch with ourselves we'll be all right. It is when wee loose touch with ourselves that we loose touch with the world and other people too - and when this happens we're on for a very lonely journey.

Stay present. Stay in touch, hold on to your neighbor and enjoy the ride.

Who’s Afraid of The Big Bad Wolf?

If you know anything about my work, if you regularly read my articles or blog posts, or if you've read my Bestselling book, Your Voice Is Your Calling Card, you'd know without a doubt that I consider fear to be a speaker/performer's worst enemy - if not Mankind's. Fear creates blockages that stops energy from flowing freely within our being and prevents us from being our greatest, most courageous, and most brilliant self.

With that cut in stone once again beckons the question...

If fear is your first enemy, who’s your second?

Some would argue that your second enemy is the heckler, the crowd vampire, the one who feeds on you and your insecurities to soothe his own. Do not attempt to feed him; his hunger is insatiable—the more he eats, the more he craves.

In my experience, most crowds are welcoming and appreciative. Most likely they are attending the event because they are already interested—nobody forced them to come.
But you will get hecklers from time to time. No matter how excellent a speaker you are, you can be pretty sure that at some point or another, you will come across people who are reserved and apprehensive and seem “hard to get”—and you will experience people who are opposing, disruptive, and downright rude!

So what? As long as you know that you’re doing your job, then peace be with anyone who, for whatever reasons they may have, feels the urge to object. Try not to make it personal. Please know that this is not necessarily because they are nasty, arrogant people by nature. They are just playing out their own insecurities, often not realizing that they are actually behaving very badly, making fools of themselves, causing you to struggle, tapping your energy, and distracting your focus away from where it should be—on your expertise, your well-prepared topic, your presentation, and the people who are genuinely interested.

Do not let the crowd vampires get to you. Don’t allow them to project their emotions onto you and the rest of the crowd. Either ignore them, or, if the disruption continues, address them very directly and openly invite them to talk to you about whatever their issue may be after your presentation. Give them the center stage they so crave, and they will likely shy away from it. Their aim is to get people on their side, to feel like “somebody,” to pretend they know better than you. Being put on the spot will not do that for them. In fact, chances are they will suddenly feel very silly indeed and retreat.

Know that this kind of behavior is just part of human nature. These people are in desperate need of attention, praise, respect, or acknowledgment themselves, and therefore they find it hard to watch others or allow others to get their fair share of what they would like for themselves. They are probably also of the opinion that they are there to be entertained and enlightened, and so they expect you to deliver, to do something that they can’t do themselves—and do it right according to their ideas or standards. That is why you’re up there and they are not. You are supposed to be superhuman! And no matter how well you deliver, it may not ever be good or exciting enough.

Well, too bad for them. It is not your problem. You can’t ever please everyone in the entire world. Please don’t waste your gunpowder on these people. Use it somewhere else where the fireworks are appreciated. I’m serious. Really, it’s a common mistake to spend way too much energy trying to win over the one person who doesn’t want to know anyway. Don’t. Reserve your golden nuggets for the people who really want and appreciate them. Be aware that often unfriendly, reserved people turn out to be the most appreciative of all. It turns out that they are just shy or simply in awe.

Don’t ever be afraid of the audience. If you are very nervous, either try not to show it or simply say that you are without making a big fuss out of it. Most people will find it endearingly human and take to you kindly for simply saying it. They know that what you’re doing takes guts, and they’re happy that they’re not in your shoes!

If some people believe that you’re insecure because you don’t know your stuff, you’ll soon prove them wrong. Once you’ve learned how to control nerves and take command of the stage with confidence and a strong presence, you will always be able to put your message across with unmistakable conviction.

Overcoming Obstacles

(Excerpt from The Path to Freedom, by Suzann Rye)

Your beliefs will either support you or block your way. Unlimited thinking opens doors, draws opportunities to you, expands your possibilities, and dramatically increases your quality of life. It gives you power, confidence, and courage and allows you to be who you really are, get what you deserve, and live the life you want. Restricted thinking does the opposite.
“But I can’t just think or believe my way around obstacles!”
There’s a difference between real, actual, immediate obstacles—and perceived, “imaginary” obstacles.

Real obstacles, or “solid” obstacles as I call them, are things that are physically impossible to immediately overcome or move out of our way or change—they cannot be immediately dissolved. We need to create a way around these obstacles so that we can continue on our way forward. We might have to take a detour to get to our next destination, but we are going to get there, nevertheless.

Imaginary obstacles are ones that we perceive as being real but in fact they are not. They are barriers that we set up for ourselves. Their main job is to provide us with suitable excuses not to act upon our dreams and goals. Often, when we are faced with an imaginary obstacle, what seems to be the immediate problem is in fact not the real issue at all. It is merely a response—an effect of something else, some underlying event or issue hidden from our direct view. It may just take a change of thought or perception to dissolve these obstacles, to open up and create a way forward. Imaginary obstacles are restrictions in our own beliefs and thought patterns that are blocking our way forward. They are not real. They are not fixed. They are imaginary obstacles that can be re-imagined.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between the two kinds of obstacles. Does it matter? Well, not really. Effectively, if we choose to see all obstacles as imaginary—the solid ones merely causing a slight delay in realization—then we are well on our way.
Typical imaginary obstacles stem from any of the following: lack of self esteem, stuck internal rules (probably stemming from upbringing), habitual old patterns, inability to take action (procrastination, essentially caused by fear), confusion (inability to define goals and lack of focus and strategy), fear of being judged, fear of failure, fear of risk-taking, fear of responsibility, fear of losing an (often false) sense of control, fear of making the wrong choices and missing out, which in turn leads to, well, missing out, etc.

You’ve noticed that again fear is a big factor. We can once again conclude or confirm that fear is the biggest obstacle of all.
And guess what? Fear is a feeling. It is not a solid object, so it cannot be a solid obstacle. What that means is that if we can overcome the feeling, we can overcome the obstacle. I want you to consider this and keep it in mind. It is very important.

The most common excuses for being unable to move forward are lack of money, lack of resources, and lack of competence. All of these can be overcome.
Another excuse is other people. We sometimes feel that other people stand in our way of moving forward. Well, while we cannot control other people, we can certainly choose whom we surround ourselves with. It is also up to us to decide how much power we choose to give to those people—how much influence they should be allowed to have over our lives. Power needs feeding; if it is not fed, it starves and eventually shrivels away. We tend to forget that although we naturally make choices based on or involving the people around us, essentially we are all free individuals and can do what we want. And mostly we will—sooner or later.

If you really want something, it is very hard to suppress it for too long. And why should you? If you are happy and fulfilled, it reflects on everyone around you. If you’re not, that reflects as well.
Reconsider the terms “being realistic” and “being sensible.” If we choose to believe that restrictions and limitations are necessary and “all part of growing up,” then that is probably how it will be. But is it really that sensible? Is it sensible to blindly accept that placing barriers in front of us is the only way forward? I think not.
If you think about it, there is always something you can do to change things. Usually it turns out that you have more options than you imagined. All situations, no matter how tough or complicated, can be changed. Some just call for more determination and diligence than others.

When faced with a stubborn obstacle like that, we have to decide whether or not we have the urge, the motivation, the passion, and the energy to overcome it. Is the end result really that important for us? Are we willing to pay the price? What if we are facing an obstacle that implies a very serious challenge that cannot immediately be overcome, at least not till something else has been overcome first? Or what if we find ourselves in circumstances that, for the time being, seem to make it physically impossible to move toward a certain goal? This could involve a physical or mental handicap, a severe disease, or other difficult conditions like extreme poverty—circumstances that, for most of us, tend to make our own problems fade in comparison.

Well, of course, every situation is different and each person has to decide what is true for them. But we have all heard miraculous stories of little people taking giant steps against all odds—people faced with the most unforgiving circumstances. Most people naturally react to stories like this by saying, “I could never have done that!”
Are you absolutely sure? Do you think the other person planned it like that? Maybe at some point they couldn’t imagine it either—but eventually they came through. It was possible, I would say, because they persevered and they believed and because something within them told them that they simply had to. This “something” added power to their faith and their ability to trust that if they really and truly committed themselves to the cause—if they did everything they possibly could on their part—the Universe would provide the rest.

Someone once said, “A problem is only ever as big or as small as you choose to see it.”
I believe that’s true.

Try to answer the questions below. Be blunt. Notice how it makes you feel—it is very important. It could hold the key to your progress.
Do you feel happy, inspired, motivated, and encouraged, or do you feel uneasy and resistant, like giving up in advance?
Do you feel that these goals can easily be achieved, or do you suspect that achieving these goals is somehow impossible?
Do you perhaps immediately start giving yourself reasons why these goals are “far-fetched”?

What do you perceive as the obstacles standing between you and your goals?
These answers will provide you with a lot of valuable information about what your current beliefs are and where you need to create change in order to move forward. Write your answers down.

When you’re done answering, ask yourself why you want these things.
What will they do for you? What will they give you?

Questions
• Think very carefully about your goals and dreams. What is it that you would like to achieve? (Write down your goals as they come naturally to you.
• Divide your goals into two boxes—one for immediate goals, the other for long-term goals.
• Now, structure your goals. Define them so they become clear. Make them look and feel clear and simple. Structure and clarity will make the process much more comprehensible and help you focus better. Rewrite if necessary.
• Focus on them. If you find focusing hard, perhaps your goals are not clear enough yet. If so, define them again, but do not change the essence of the goals or dreams; do not make the overall goals smaller.
• Consider: maybe you need to divide your goals into smaller parts.
• Finally, give your goals deadlines. Think about what would be realistic timeframes for reaching each goal.
• And then commit to pursuing your goals and keeping the deadlines.
• Make a plan of action by writing down all the possible avenues that you can think of that would lead you to your goal(s).

Then ask yourself: “What can I do today?” Is there a logical timeline to the action steps that you have identified?

Finally, believe that you can succeed, intend to succeed—and you are going to succeed!
Believe it, intend it, create it.

The more clear, direct and focused you are in “asking” for what you want, the clearer the signal that you’re sending out. If you focus on something—if you give it enough attention for long enough—you energize it more and more, and eventually it will manifest. Whatever you focus on is what you get, for energy follows thought. When you hold a steady focus on something and your intent to achieve it or to have it is clear and strong, then you are going to create it. You are going to attract the people, situations, and opportunities you need.
Be alert and ready to take advantage of these opportunities when they appear.

Acknowledge that it is solely your responsibility to reach your goals—no one else is going to reach them for you. By taking full responsibility and accepting that you do have the freedom to choose and the power to create any reality that you want, you have already taken the important first step toward expansion and greater success. In other words, you have engaged yourself into a conscious process of creating your reality and manifesting your dreams and goals.

To your Joy and Success!
Love,
Suzann

Great Showmanship

As a speaker/presenter, you are a communicator. Your job is to successfully communicate a message in an interesting, engaging, and entertaining enough way for people to stay focused during the entire presentation. That’s no easy task. The average attention span of human beings is said to be no more than ten minutes. Then the brain simply needs to switch channels at least for a few seconds—enough to lose track of what’s being communicated.

Strong communicators are excellent performers, astute observers, and proficient energy translators. They read their audience, pick up hints, and move and sway with the mood. They dance gracefully, every step carefully planned but effortlessly executed, like pure play, holding the audience captive and eagerly awaiting their next move. Their words, flowing naturally and with poised ease, are just right—no more, no less—the perfect recipe, every sentence not too sweet, not too bitter.

The above describes what I would classify as great showmanship. Obviously it takes time, effort, and experience to arrive at this stage and become an accomplished speaker like this. And it takes courage. It requires you to
completely let go of any restrictions and to trust blindly in your own skill and divine inspiration. It is much like playing music, improvising. There is a difference between playing an instrument and playing music. One is craft; the other is art. When the two come together, you have magic.

Speakers use their voice, their body and their energy to convey messages, express opinions, etc. The more convincingly they do this, the better the show—the more successful and the greater the reception.
Any grand performance needs to have life and excitement and passion. The audience should walk away from it with some sort of bonus, something new that they’ve learned, something to think about, an emotional reaction, something that makes their life just a little bit different than before. Watching the performance needs to be worth their while because if it’s not, they will never come back.

What is it in other speakers that inspires you?
What makes you eagerly anticipate a particular speaker’s next appearance?
Any chance you get, watch other performers work; pay attention to what they are doing and why. Merely observing others can teach you so much.

So how do we get there? How do we learn to create the kind of magic that will spellbind our audience and make them cling to our every word?

Speak from the heart—speak with sincerity, display empathy and compassion, and show a genuine interest in our audience. We need to connect with them and relate to them on a heart level. People like to feel important and appreciated, and they like to feel loved. Show them that you are genuinely happy to address them, that you believe in what you are saying, and that you believe what you have to say is of real value to them.

Consider your audience your friends. Bond with them, offer a warm smile, and use eye contact and inviting gestures. Show emotion, if appropriate, and add soul and character to the performance, drawing on your own experiences. Use personal stories to create rapport and give them a real glimpse of you, the person. Relate to the audience and they will relate to you.

Touching people’s hearts in some way will always make them listen to you more intensely and connect with you. Remember, people are people, no matter what kind of high-profile jobs they have. So meet them on a person to-person level, even if your presentation is of a serious nature. A friendly, pleasant, and relaxed (but not sloppy) approach will come across as confident, competent, and in control. Your audience will trust you and pay attention to your message. If you are relaxed, calm, and comfortable, you will project it and inspire the same feelings in your audience. But the opposite is also true: if you are anxious and uneasy, your audience
will react to it and become anxious and uneasy too. The audience will mirror you. That’s why it is so important to take the time and make the effort to learn how to control anxiety, extreme nervousness, and so on. It is not only unpleasant to feel anxious; it also impairs the quality of your performance and certainly affects the audience’s perception of you.

Exercise: Be Inspired—Create Magic
• What is it in other speakers that inspire you?
• What makes you eagerly anticipate a particular speaker’s next appearance?
• What is great showmanship to you?
• Have you ever felt yourself being completely in the flow of a great performance, almost watching from the outside as the magic of skills combined with divine inspiration unfolded, effortlessly and beautifully—moving and swaying with the mood—like pure play?
If you have, hold on to that feeling and nurture it every day as you practice. Remind yourself of it and imagine that it is already a natural part of your performance—every time. If you have not yet experienced this state of being, don’t worry—you soon will.

For the Greater Good

I love helping people find their own voices. To me that mean recognizing their life purpose and doing and communicating whatever they are passionate about!
Why?

Because people who follow their bliss and live out their life purpose are not selfish, or self-centered people, as perhaps some would have you believe. On the contrary, by being true and respectful towards their own needs and desires, they build the energy to share freely and generously of their joy and gratitude with other people too. They believe in passing it on so that we can all share in the collective, unlimited Good that is abundant – if we dare seek it.

Living our life purpose keeps us aligned with our Higher Selves. When we allow ourselves to bask in the magnificent glory of who we truly are; we feel happy. Our entire Being resonates with joy and our Spirit sings.

We all go through rough patches in our lives. We all face challenges – sometimes so many or so tough that we feel beaten down. Sometimes giving up on our dreams and desires seems like the easiest choice. But it’s not - neither for us nor the people around us.

People who have given up and left their Souls to suffer in silence have little left to offer themselves let alone others - and their contribution to the overall Good wanes. This is the beginning of all ends. This is how wars are started; people feeling powerless and in despair.

If you think that your dreams and passions are not worthy or important enough to pursue - do it anyway. If not for you, do it for your kids, your friends and loved ones, your colleagues and neighbors. Do it for the Greater Good.
Because when you do, you are making a valuable contribution to the world and everyone around you. You are spreading the love, the joy and the bliss around, and we all get a piece.

Sing your song…

Love,
Suzann

Reveal Your Brilliance - Quick Tips To Create Real Impact!

Have you ever made a presentation and had the horrible feeling of being ignored or disrespected?

Nonverbal or non-linguistic communication includes gestures, postures, facial expressions, and even the verbal inflections of the words that we use. The term verbal inflection refers to the musical qualities of the voice, such as the melody, tone, pitch, rhythm, volume, and pausing—basically the dynamics that we use when we speak.

Along with energetic transmission (emotional state of mind reflecting and often conflicting the verbal communication), non-linguistic communication can change the entire meaning of a given message. It supports, emphasizes, or contradicts what is being said. Multiple studies support this; some claim that over 80 percent of all communication is nonverbal or non-linguistic.

This means that you can be the most highly educated, super experienced expert in the world; if you don’t know how to communicate your knowledge, no one will take any notice. This is a great shame. It is also totally unnecessary as communication skills can be improved easily.

We all have to get up there sometimes in front of people and “perform”. When you teach coach or speak, you perform. When you pitch a project, present information, an opinion, an idea, a vision, or a creation to somebody, or attend a job interview, even go on a first date—essentially you perform. And you always have an objective. Whether you are looking to feed an emotional need (respect, recognition, love, etc.) or an outside results-oriented need (clinching a deal, pitching an idea or a project, etc.), you are looking for a result. Perhaps you want to create change or to educate, motivate, help or inspire people in some way. Perhaps you want them to take some sort of action. Whatever it is, you have something to “sell”.

Don’t hide your brilliance under a bushel. Begin nurturing your performer gene. Think about how you would like to see yourself in the ultimate role—YOU as the very best that you can be. If you suffer from performance anxiety and nervousness, simply take a first small step today to improve your skills and conquer your fears. You’ll be glad you did.

We all have some specialist knowledge or important messages to share. When we allow ourselves the freedom to do just that, we feel wonderful, excited and proud—we feel purpose and joy. And when WE feel it, other people do too, and they are drawn to us and compelled to listen with their ears AND hearts. Let your Soul shine its natural light onto the world. Fuel you message with passion and genuine conviction, and others will be convinced too.

People want to be inspired by someone they can connect with. Great communicators spend time and energy establishing rapport. They interact with the audience, pick up signals, and respond to them. They make the audience feel part of what they do. They come from a space of SHARING instead of SHOWING. They know that it is not about them, proving how good, perfect and knowledgeable they are—it’s about the audience and how THEY feel during and following the presentation.

Quick Tips To Create Real Impact…

• Practice being totally present whenever you speak.
• Practice total resonance and alignment between you and your message: say what you mean—mean what you say.
• View your audience as friends and speak to them accordingly—and they will regard you as their friend too.
• Show genuine interest in your audience—and your audience will show genuine interest in you.
• Share instead of show…
• Fuel your message with passion and real emotion—and you will move and inspire people beyond your words.
• Be authentic – don’t be afraid of being you.
• Celebrate what you are instead of regretting what you’re not.

Have a great week!
Love,
Suzann.

Growing Through Changes…

Making great changes in our lives can be challenging - not least for the people around us who suddenly need to make changes in their perception of us too, as a friend of mine experienced recently:

After years of being very overweight, insecure, and unhappy, Stephanie decided that this was it! She wanted something better for herself.

Although turning her life around in such a major way seemed an overwhelming task, her daily frustration was even more overwhelming. She had to do something.

She decided to give herself a complete makeover - body, mind, and Soul. She took small steps every day and gradually started to change. She got involved in all sorts of new, exciting things, including sports for the first time ever. Her overall lifestyle improved. She soon became much healthier and happier, and started losing the excess weight that had been troubling her so. After a while, she met someone, fell in love, and got involved in a relationship for the first time. Stephanie had truly turned her life around.

You would think that her friends and family would be supportive and over-the-moon happy for her. Not so. One day she came over and seemed not her usual chirpy self. When I asked her what was wrong, she burst into tears. She was so disappointed, she said. Both her sister and her best friend found it hard to cope with her new-found happiness. She felt as if suddenly they didn’t like her anymore, as if her changing somehow upset them.

Sometimes when we move forward in our lives it can be difficult for people around us to understand. If we lift our energy and they stay in the old vibration, an imbalance or disharmony can occur. Our friends or family members may subconsciously try to hold us back because they resist change and would like things to remain the way they were. Human beings are creatures of habit - they naturally like to hold on to what they know.

As we grow and evolve as human beings, we cannot always expect to grow in the same direction as the people around us. Sometimes friendships outrun their course and their purpose. However, in most cases our friends just need time to adjust. Perhaps they need reassurance that our changing won’t take anything away from them - in fact, they may very well benefit from it.

Stephanie decided to have a long heart-to-heart talk with her sister. She told her she loved her and needed her support. When her sister no longer felt that their relationship was threatened, she was able to share Stephanie’s happiness. She was even inspired to make some positive changes in her own life.

Love,
Suzann

Speaking From The Heart

Have you ever felt misunderstood?
Have you ever thought that you had communicated something quite clearly – still people responded totally unexpectedly, like you had said something completely different?

Sometimes what we say verbally doesn’t quite match what we project energetically. It happens when we are out of alignment with who we are, what we feel and what we’re saying at the time.

Next time you fell misunderstood; think about this:

What kind of energy is behind your words?
Do you speak with a balanced, clear and strong energy - or could you be sending out conflicting, mixed messages when you speak?
Is the message behind the message telling a different story than the one you are attempting to communicate?
Are you being true? Are you aligned?

This will determine if people “get you”, and if your message gets through to them – or not.

You are always thinking something – so you’re always transmitting something.
This means that you are always communicating, even when you don’t mean to, and even when you are not aware of it.

It is not just important what you say – it is also how you say it, but even more importantly, who is saying it. What is the energy is behind your words?

We all want people to realize how wonderful and amazing we are, and how valuable our service is. Whether consciously or sub-consciously, we all want to be seen – and heard. We all have a need for recognition, we all want to be loved and appreciated for who we are - and rightfully so.

That’s why it is so important to recognize the enormous power your energy has when you communicate. It has far more power than your words. This powerful energy is reflected in your voice too. Your voice will reveal more about your emotional state and your thinking than you imagine. So your voice is pretty important!

Make your voice your strongest ally. Use it to inspire, to teach, and make a difference in the world. Speak in a strong, clear and true voice physically and spiritually.
Speak from your heart to the hearts of others. Reach out and share your message, your gifts, wisdom, knowledge, inspiration, love and vision with the people that are waiting for your words.

I will be listening.

Love,
Suzann.

Live Life Fully - Chose Courage Over Fear!

In my work as a Coach there is one issue that always seem to come in at the top of the list and that is FEAR. There’s a long list of common fears. Most boil down to fear of not being loved, accepted or “good enough”.

Fear has prevented many great things from coming from many great people. Fear creates resistance to change and progress. It prevents us from expressing who we really are and sharing what we have to offer. It creates jealousy and resentment and tricks us into believing that we are somehow less fortunate or less able. Fear makes us feel powerless, gives us excuses not to act and keeps us from pursuing our dreams, follow our hearts, live life fully, and journey courageously toward our goals. “Better safe than sorry,” we think. Better protect ourselves from disappointment and “failure”!

This is all very convenient—but not very productive and certainly not very fulfilling. If we would instead face our fears head-on, we would feel a lot happier and achieve much more.

We all have different emotional baggage that manifests later on in life—often when and where we least expect it and often in disguise. We can be deeply affected by fear even when we don’t see a direct connection to the real issue behind it at the time. The good news is; we’ve all been there. We’ve all been scared—and survived! When your world is collapsing around you and panic strikes; remind yourself that you are not alone. Others have gone before you and have learned that even the scariest or most embarrassing moment ever eventually becomes just another brick in the wall, making it even stronger.

Many great men and women have achieved great things because they chose courage instead of fear. When you hear or read about people like that, you might think, “I’m not like them” - but you are. Deep down you will recognize a sense of excitement and inspiration. That is your Soul reminding you that achieving great things is possible. Hold on to that feeling. Remain inspired and empowered by these wonderful tales from the realm of unlimited possibilities. Remind yourself that fear is just a feeling—and feelings can be changed.
Live life fully—chose courage over fear!

To your courage.
Love, S

Part 2... From little mouse to roaring lioness; how one woman’s voice led her to a total transformation! PLUS 2 new books with MASSIVE bonus deals!

Sunday night I returned home from my much needed break in Majorca to find a totally changed garden! The trees are shedding their leaves, and the flowers are returning to the earth, preparing for the long sleep. How symbolic. My beloved dog passed away on the last really warm and beautiful summer’s day. We spend the day with him outside in shorts and Ts in his favorite spot under the walnut tree. He had had a great life – now it was his time to go. It was sad but beautiful at the same time.

Today, as I am writing this, I am sitting in my study all wrapped up, big socks, candles on, cozy and warm… Summer is gone. It’s a new beginning. What a difference ten days can make.

Anyway, today I want to share three things with you:

1 I had an overwhelming response to last week’s radio show (my first in the series). Many of you sent questions. I will answer them all in my show TODAY.

2 Ping Li’s wonderful new book

3 Deborah DeNicola’s fascinating memoir.

Wow! The response to last week’s radio show with Sue Kemp has been overwhelming. So many of you wrote me afterwards wanting many more details about Sue’s astonishing journey; what exactly did we do that made such a tremendous difference in her thinking and her life, which were the tools we worked with, and most of all how and why did Sue come from simply wanting to work on a technical skill (her voice technique) to literally transforming her life?!

In today’s (Tuesday September 15) “Your Voice Is Your Calling Card Radio Show on http://www.realcoachingradio.com (11:00 – 12:00 pm Eastern/19:00 Central European Time), I will be answering all of those questions and try to give you an idea why is so crucial to be true to your own inner voice if the outer voice, your physical voice, is going to have any chance of working to the best of its ability.

Whatever your profession or passion is, whether you are a speaker, an author, a singer, artist entrepreneur or none of those; if you want to experience the joy of free self expression, if you want your message to be heard loud and clear, join me today at http://www.realcoachingradio.com at 11:00 -12:00 pm Eastern. You can even text your own questions to the studio as we go along and I will do my very best to answer them as well. Hope to “see” you then.

And now onto something entirely different:

You know that being an author myself I’m a great lover of books. When something stands out to me, I will tell you about it.
Well last week I told you about Jerry and Esther Hicks and Eldon Taylor – all of them Hay House heavyweights.

Today I would like to introduce you to two relatively new authors, Ping Li and Deborah DeNicola. They both launch their brilliant new books today. Please take a moment to read about them below. Both come with great extra bonuses for a limited time period only.

Ping Li, AWAKENING: Fulfilling Your Soul’s Purpose on Earth.

22 days to your new life of dream-come-true! On finding your life’s purpose (And your chance to pick up $8,400 worth of gifts – more on this in a moment)

Ping Li says:
“The surest route to a life full of joy, clarity, loving relationships, peace, and yes WEALTH … lies in developing your spiritual self first!
Because until you figure out what matters most to your spirit – your Soul – you’ll be constantly pulled off track in your pursuit of other goals.
You have to line up those other goals with your ‘Higher Purpose’ in Life. And when you do that… everything else you desire will be drawn to you like iron filings to a magnet!”

HOW?

Ping’s newest book, an amazing guidebook to uncovering, exploring, and achieving your Higher Purpose in Life, and the nourishment your soul needs. (And, in the process, achieving all your heart’s other desires!)

What Ping Li has laid out in such easy-to follow fashion, is a 22-day process of daily mental exercises, journaling, and meditative journeys. Each day, you explore another aspect of spiritual development together.

As you progress through these simple steps, you can feel your Spirit lifting, your daily burden lightening, confusion and depression dissipating. Nature’s Universal Laws of Attraction, Giving & Receiving, and Manifestation beginning to work in your favor to create the life you dream of.

Visit http://www.awakeningbooklaunch.com/bookpromo.html to see what other readers have shared, for example:

"Your book has empowered me to replace fear with faith, and embrace my soul's desire."

"...guides you gently and lovingly through the journey of remembering who you REALLY are. To read it is TRANSFORMATIONAL!"

"Your simple and direct, yet powerful, insights and exercises have helped me understand and connect to the power of my own pure being."

"Your book GLOWS with positive energy!"

"Thank you sincerely for guiding me back to the power of looking within myself."

I don’t have room here to tell you Ping’s own story of tragedy and redemption. Let me just say Ping’s transformation has been both remarkable and inspiring!
And the process she followed to turn her life around is precisely what she shares with you now in “AWAKENING: Fulfilling Your Soul’s Purpose on Earth”.

You can learn more about Ping, her book AND the promise it holds for YOUR life at her website, here www.awakeningbooklaunch.com/bookpromo.html

PLUS…

Because Ping – and her new book – are so well-loved by so many of us, we, a bunch of her friends and colleagues, have banded together to make the official launch of it a hugely over-the-top success for her AND for you. In addition to the incredible fast-action bonus gifts that Ping herself is giving away to anyone who order their copy of the book before midnight, September 15, we have come up with a gift package that is absolutely incredible; over $8400 in bonus gifts when you place your order before the launch cut-off.

I whole-heartedly recommend Ping’s book and the fact that you're going to pick up $8,400 dollar of free fast-action bonus gifts on top makes it a no brainer, if you ask me.

From little mouse to roaring lioness! How one woman’s voice led her to a total transformation.

Last week I did my first radio show while vacating in the beautiful island of Majorca, Spain!
It was great. My special guest was my friend Sue Kemp who overcame incredible challenges and literally underwent a total life transformation during one of my courses.

I spoke to Sue about her experience, and she shared her incredible story. You can listen to the show in the show archives here if you like: http://www.realcoachingradio.com

The response to last week’s radio show with Sue has been overwhelming. So many listeners wrote me afterwards wanting many more details about Sue’s astonishing journey; what exactly did we do that made such a tremendous difference in her thinking and her life, which were the tools we worked with, and most of all how and why did Sue come from simply wanting to work on a technical skill (her voice technique) to literally transforming her life?!

In tomorrow’s (Tuesday September 15) “Your Voice Is Your Calling Card Radio Show on http://www.realcoachingradio.com (11:00 – 12:00 pm Eastern), I will be answering all of those questions and try to give you an idea why is so crucial to be true to your own inner voice if the outer voice, your physical voice, is going to have any chance of working to the best of its ability. Stop Arguing - Start Being...

I’m often frustrated when people tell me how they are not able to do or be what they want to do or be because of someone else – often because this "someone else" does not want them to…
My first thought is always, “why do you allow someone else to dictate what you can and can't do"?
But then I'm quickly reminded how we all tend to sometimes fall into that trap. It can be very challenging to stand up for our own beliefs and even more challenging to follow our dreams in the face of outside resistance.

Coming from a musician’s background, I know firsthand what it's like to meet skepticism and resistance when you embark on a journey that seems unusual and perhaps somewhat "unrealistic" to many. Mostly the resistance comes from a very well-meaning place. Friends and relatives want what's best for you so making choices that could be considered out of the ordinary and perhaps lack the immediate sense of security that other, more traditional paths seem to offer, naturally tends to provoke resistance and fear. Our "lofty" dreams are easily dismissed as "insensible".
But in truth, nothing is more insensible than working against our own grain. Sooner or later our Spirit will rebel. The Little Voice inside of us will speak louder and louder and eventually we will have to listen. We can postpone the calling of our Soul - but if we think that we can shut it up for good, we are in for a surprise! Your Soul will never give up on you.

So now beckons the question; do we give up on our dreams and desires and live with the constant arguing in our head for the rest of our lives...or do we simply allow the Little Voice to speak its truth and align ourselves with its message once and for all?
Do we give in to our surroundings, our parents, our beloved friends and relatives and follow their advice to stay put in the safety of our known territory - or do we muster the courage to heed our special Calling and venture out into the unknown in pursuit of our Destiny and a peaceful inner life in harmony and alignment with our Soul's true nature?

The only way to live in peace is to stop arguing and start being who we really came into this earthly existence to be. It is far easier to face a few conflicts along the way with other people than facing a lifelong conflict with yourself. When the people around you realize that the choices your made were right for you after all, they will come round. You might even inspire them to take a fresh look at their own choices.

Have the courage to be and do what’s right for you. Believe that you have something worthwhile to do and share with the world, and your Soul will thank you and bring you rewards beyond anything you thought possible.
To your journey.
